I trained as an Engineer at INSA, specializing in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computer Science, and began my career as a software developer and architect, working on complex systems at Alcatel and Canal+. It wasn’t long before I moved into engineering leadership—drawn by the challenge of shaping teams, not just code.

For over 20 years, I’ve served as VP of Engineering and R&D Director in the media and telecom sectors, building high-performance organizations in environments where both the tech and the stakes were demanding. Whether scaling systems or scaling teams, I’ve always been driven by one question: how do we create lasting impact, not just output?

My passion for agility and lean thinking led me to explore their potential—and their limits—through large-scale transformations. Over time, I realized that improving delivery alone won’t move the needle. The real leverage comes from aligning execution with strategy, across all levels of the organization.

That’s the belief behind KATALYSS, which I co-founded with Miguel. We help companies activate their strategic ambitions, using tools like OKRs not as ends, but as levers for deep, systemic alignment. Our work goes beyond frameworks. It’s about enabling transformations that stick, and that teams believe in.

Miguel FIGUEIREDO

I began my career at the crossroads of mechanics and software, with a DUT in Mechanical and Production Engineeringand an Engineering degree from the CESI (Centre d’Études Supérieures Industrielles). My first challenges were hands-on: programming industrial automation systems, robotic arms, and assembly-line robots. Robotics became my gateway to embedded systems—where every byte, every millisecond mattered.

As my experience grew, so did the scope of my work. I moved from low-level systems to high-level software architectures, from monoliths to distributed, cloud-orchestrated microservices. But one thing became increasingly clear: the hardest problems weren’t technical—they were human.

That realization reshaped my path. I shifted toward leadership roles—Scrum Master, Engineering Manager, Director of Engineering, Head of Engineering—to address the real blockers: misalignment, unclear priorities, broken collaboration, and organizational inertia.

Together with François, I co-founded KATALYSS to bring that dual lens, deep technical understanding and seasoned leadership to organizations seeking real, lasting impact. Our approach is deliberately pragmatic, always grounded in experience, and relentlessly focused on what works in the field.
